Trusting

READ

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

REFLECT

My own understanding is: I’m not quite sure which choice to make.

My own understanding is: I am overwhelmed, ill-equipped, under-funded, and… tired.

My own understanding is: sometimes I’m not completely sure I am even on the path and whatever course I am trudging through seems anything but straight.

My own understanding is: I don’t have all (or even most) of the answers.

What a comfort to know I don’t have to “lean on” my own understanding! What a blessing and sheer relief that HE knows exactly the choices to be made. HE is the Great Provider of all the things I lack – the courage, the equipment, the finances, and the peaceful rest. Even when I can’t find the over-grown path, HE sees it and HE holds my hand while I find my footing. HE knows all the answers and wants to show me HIS way to blessings.

If we trust Him with all our hearts and acknowledge His authority and power in our lives, He will lead His church down clear paths to reach this community with the Good News of Jesus.

PRAY

Dear Father, thank You for providing us the assurance of Your plan. Thank You for the peace we can experience because You know what our future holds. Thank You for clearing a straight path for us to serve You and glorify You. Help us not to be tempted for even a moment to lean on our own understanding, but to always look only to You for Your plan. Help us to trust You whole-heartedly every step of the way. We love You, Father, and wait with anticipation the blessings You will rain down over us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
