“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Romans 12:10-11
Though adults in the church don’t have as many game-like events as those in the youth group, being with others around us who love God is just as important as it was in our childhood. Seeing the way God influences your life and others’ through each other is part of what helps us get excited about growing closer to Him in our faith. The encouragement that others bring us allows for our heart to be opened to the joy God has for us, giving us more enthusiasm and zeal to do His work. We are a community, together in loving God, and being a community will strengthen us as a whole to get more fired up about serving Him. Do you rejoice in the fellowship opportunities you have? They help provide you with a fraction of God’s immense love shown through other people. Get hyped.
Dear God, please allow me to notice the love that You show me through others. Please allow the love in our strong community to spark a zeal in me and those around me to do Your will as You would have it done. Allow us to follow Your path for us in everything we do, and to never forget the love You have shown us.
